Person understanding the connection between body signals and subconscious mind responses

The Body Knows Before the Mind Does

Svadhisthana, the Sacral Chakra, and what the Wild Man’s relationship to desire actually looks like.

The Sacral Chakra, the Wild Man’s relationship to desire, and why the body knows before the mind agrees.

Last week we asked the dangerous question: who are you when you stop organizing your life around proving something?

This week the question gets more specific.

What do you actually want?

Not what you think you should want. Not the answer that sounds good. Not the version of desire that has been patient and reasonable and dressed in the language of understanding for so long that you have almost forgotten it was desire at all.

The Sacral Chakra — Svadhisthana, the water element, the energy center of desire, pleasure, and creative flow — does not care about your reasonableness. It cares about your aliveness. It asks not whether your desires are logical but whether you are honest enough to feel them.

The Wild Man’s relationship to desire is not recklessness. It is radical honesty about what the body already knows.

This week’s piece goes into that territory — including what dance has to do with it, what happens when the body stops waiting for the mind to give it permission, and the practice of finally listening to what has been trying to get your attention for longer than is comfortable to admit.

The paid piece this week goes deeper into the personal side of this teaching. If you have been following the current chapter, that’s where it lands most honestly.Read the full piece → Listening to the body for a change,
